Both DC and AC motors are used in Hunter Douglas hard-wired motorized products. The motorized drapery track also uses an AC motor, but one different from the tubular motors used in the other product types.

Hard-wired motorized window coverings offer many automation options, including the ability to be integrated with lighting or home automation systems.

Whenever possible, pre-wiring your window coverings only makes sense.  A fully wired system is superior in reliability and consistent operation.
